What are the requirements for getting married in Belize?

You are required to stay in Belize for 72 hours prior to applying for your license, on the fourth business day your marriage application can be submitted to the Vital Statistics office in Belize City and on the fifth day, you will be married on your own private island. As an example, arrive on a Monday, get married on Friday. Please note that the Vital Statistics office is closed on all Belizean bank and public holidays. Both the trip and the license fee are included in the Wedding package rate. Blood tests are not required, but you are required to provide proof of citizenship, a certified copy of your birth certificate, and the original divorce certificate or death certificate with the raised seal, if applicable. We will take the necessary forms and paperwork to Belize City for you (including your passports). For additional information on marriage requirements in Belize, go to travelbelize.org. There is a minimum stay of seven nights for this package. If you will be accompanied by a wedding party, we recommend that you reserve the island at least eight months in advance of your stay.
