Start your vacation at the charming Laru Beya Resort, located directly on the sandy beach of the vibrant Placencia Peninsula. What was once a quiet fishing village, is now Belize’s top travel destination. Stretching for 16-miles with the glistening Caribbean Sea on one side and the mangrove-fringed lagoon overlooking the verdant Maya Mountains on the other, Placencia is a gem of a tropical paradise. The staff knows your name and greets you. There is daily housekeeping service and turn down service. And the view is stunning! We thoroughly enjoyed our Mayan Ruins tour, Island hopping tour and cooking class with Chef Judith also! We can not wait to go back!!
ShayeSimply Paradise Coco Plum is Heaven on earth! This was my our second time back, and we will absolutely return again! This time, we brought his parents because we felt like our first review didn’t do this incredible place justice. Oh boy, did they love it! They are already planning their own return trip. From the moment you arrive, every staff member makes you feel like family. They are genuinely kind, welcoming, and go above and beyond to make your stay special. There isn’t enough space for me to say how amazing Ms. Jude, Allen, Bella, Ervin, Stephen, Cristina, Bri, Jess, and Tyrone were. They truly made our vacation even more memorable! Between the simplicity, peacefulness, and seclusion, you feel like you have the entire island to yourself. It’s the perfect place to completely unwind, disconnect, and relax. The water is absolutely incredible, and the snorkeling is fantastic. And the food… beyond words! As someone who is gluten-free, I especially appreciated how accommodating they were. I never had to worry about finding something I could eat, and Ms. Jude made sure I was taken care of at every single meal. There are so many things you must do while you’re here: paddleboarding around the island, enjoying a spa treatment (the massages are seriously some of the best I’ve ever had!), taking a cooking class with Mrs. Jude, and walking over to the other island/resort. The new additions and upgrades to the island have also been beautifully done. Everything feels thoughtful, natural, and perfectly suited to the peaceful atmosphere of Coco Plum. Yes, it’s a journey to get here, but once you arrive, you’ll never want to leave—and you won’t think twice about making the journey back. Coco Plum is truly paradise, and we can’t wait for our next (third) visit!
Jeff BStill the best!! Hello Readers, First off, I will say that it is difficult to write a Trip Advisor review for CocoPlum and tell you something new. Yes, they have a 5.0 rating with 2,800+ reviews, Yes, they have won multiple international awards for being one the best resorts in the world. Yes, yes and more yes. Therefore, I will try to provide additional information that has not been posted before. My wife and I have visited Cocoplum 4 times and are looking forward to another trip early 2027. There are many couples that visit yearly or more. Guests that have stayed 6 or more times are recognized with Hall of Fame appreciation certificates that are displayed on the underside of the bar roof. It appears that there are 32 couples (maybe more) that have made that 6 visit minimum. Some up to over 15 or more visits to Cocoplum. This gives you an idea of what guests think of Cocoplum. For many couples, this is their ‘go to’ place. The rooms, the bar, and the offered activities are excellent. But by far the best are the people who work at Cocoplum making everyone’s visit a memorable one. My wife and I probably know most of staff members by first name, and they know us as well. Cocoplum is a very nice resort, but we also head back to see our friends that work there. And this year, we have added 2 new friends to our list. Michelle and Hugo Boss, or known as Juice. Here is our list of must do’s while on the island. Romantic dinner on the dock. Not just one, but a few massages at the Serenity Spa. As much snorkeling as you can get with Michelle and Darwin. Scuba is great as well with Gary or Roy. Maybe a ‘few’ good drinks by Jess and Irving at the bar. And of course, wonderful meals by Ms. Jude. No doubt that she is probably one of the best Chefs in Belize. We also give a special shout out to Alex and Bella for making all of this happen so smoothly. Both are readily available to the guests for any concerns of the guest. Their behind the scenes work makes a wonderful time for all the guests. We DO appreciate all the good work that they do! KateleighcallowayAmazing! I booked a surprise trip to Coco Plum for my mom’s birthday, and it truly could not have been more perfect. It was her first time ever leaving the country, and she had absolutely no idea we were going to Belize until we got to the airport! It ended up being such a special trip for both of us. From the moment we arrived, everyone at Coco Plum was so incredibly sweet, warm, and welcoming. The entire island has such a laid-back, peaceful feel. Even with other guests there, it somehow felt like we had the island to ourselves most of the time. It was private, quiet, and exactly the kind of place where you can completely relax. One of my favorite things about Coco Plum is that you can really make the trip whatever you want it to be. We spent plenty of time lounging in the cabanas with piña coladas and enjoying the island, but we also got to have some amazing adventures. We went lobster spearing one day and came back to an incredible dinner of fresh lobster and lionfish, did some fly fishing, and spent so much time just enjoying the water and beautiful surroundings. It was the perfect mix of total relaxation and adventure. You can do as much or as little as you want and really tailor the experience to your own vibe. I’m so grateful Coco Plum was the setting for such a special trip with my mom. I would absolutely recommend it to friends and family, and we’ll definitely be back. 🤍🌴

With only about 18 private cabanas, the level of privacy and peace you get here is incredible—you never have to worry about crowds. The cabanas themselves are roomy, spotless, and stocked with every amenity you could need. The food was delicious and plentiful throughout our stay, and the views in every direction were simply spectacular. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff—they treat you like close friends and consistently go above and beyond to make sure every request is met. We spent our time doing exactly what an island vacation calls for: relaxing on the private beach, hanging out at the bar with a cold drink in hand, and doing a bit of casual fishing right off the pier. If you are looking for a stunning, intimate, and effortless all-inclusive getaway, this is it.
SarahWDavisI Want to Keep Coco Plum a Secret But..... We were introduced to Coco Plum through wonderful friends who asked us to join them for their NINTH stay. We are so glad we did!! From the second we stepped off the boat on the island, it didn’t matter that it was only our first visit – the staff treated us like we were family! Everyday was like heaven. A TRUE vacation. We never left the island, but there are lots of wonderful offsite activities you could take advantage of (maybe we will next time). The food is phenomenal, the accommodations are luxurious and comfortable, the views are breathtaking, the spa is amazing, and the drinks are always flowing. But BY FAR the best part is the service. The staff go above and so far beyond anything we could have possibly ever imagined. By day 2, we were hooked and booked on site for next year. There are no real words for this place – you truly have to experience it for yourself. I can see why guests return 5, 10, 20+ times! I literally cried when I left!! We’ve already started our countdown to 2027 and have marked 2028 dates on our calendar. Thank you for everything! Can’t wait to return in 281 days!!Kerri WBest vacation ever Coco Plum is truly incredible. From the time we booked our trip we knew it was going to be something special. When our flight coming into Belize City got delayed, my husband contacted Alex because we were worried about our hopper flight. Alex took care of getting it changed and we were the only people not scrambling to find a flight once we landed. Everything about Coco Plum was amazing. It’s a 16 acre island located in beautiful tropical WARM water. The staff go above and beyond. They are warm and friendly and truly enjoy what they are doing. They get to know you and what your preferences are. The food is incredible. I don’t eat sea food but there were plenty of options for me, my husband loved the sea food. The rooms were incredible and cleaned well. We appreciate the quiet low key atmosphere. There was no late night music blaring. We truly have nothing negative to say. It was our best vacation ever and we are already trying to plan our next trip.

SkoborieAn unforgettable honeymoon My husband and I recently came to Coco Plum for our honeymoon and we could not have chosen a better place to spend our vacation!! From the moment we stepped on the island, each and every staff member made sure we felt like family. The resort is smaller, so this is wonderful for travelers who like a small community, because you will see the same people everyday. Everyone remembered us by name and really made it difficult to leave! Tafari, Jeff and Steve were so much fun to hang out with at the bar and were so excited to show us all their reggae songs they like to listen to. All of the bartenders and servers are wonderful and extremely hospitable. The rooms are always extremely clean and very intimate. You get your own cabana/hut so you’re not on top of everyone else. Another amazing aspect of the island is the snorkeling! This is definitely a spot to visit if you love snorkeling. Darwin was such a great snorkel guide on the tours and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the marine life in the area. Additionally, if you enjoy history or cultural excursions, I would recommend participating in the Mayan ruins tour that is offered. We got to have a private (normally small-group but we were the only ones signed up!) tour of a Mayan city and climb to the top of the main temple. It was truly unforgettable! Overall, I don’t think there is anything negative I could say about this resort. By our last day we were definitely looking into ways to come back!!
